Forest school on the american river parkway
​Our forest school is a land based enrichment program for children ages 0-12. We explore the same river location for a season or year and are outside rain or shine (with a few exceptions - see our FAQS.)
We believe the learning of early and middle childhood should focus on a child's understanding of their body and self, building relationships with peers and teachers, and learning about the world they live in. Our emergent curriculum is based on the seasons and children's interests. We also learn about the native and invasive plants, the birds and animals we share the parkway with, and how to care for ourselves and our wild world.

Little Lupines - Stay and Play
Our Little Lupine group is for children ages 1-6 and their caregivers
We meet for a season (11 weeks) at the same location
Each session consists of a teacher led gathering, land based curriculum, and lots of nature play!
Winter Season
Thursdays @ Sutter's Landing 9am-12pm
Fridays @ Paradise Beach 9am-12pm
$295 for one child
$350 for 2+ children
(no charge for babe in arms and siblings over 6)
Mighty Oaks - School Age
The Mighty Oaks is our drop off program for school age children (usually ages 5-10) that join us either after their school day or as a home school enrichment program.
Along with lots and lots of free play we investigate the natural sciences, learn primitive and bushcraft skills, and explore the creative arts.
Winter Season
Thursdays @ Paradise Beach 1:30-5:30
Flexible Drop Off (1-1:30) and Pick Up (5-5:30)

Wild Willows
The Wild Willows is our flagship drop off early childhood program. We meet September - May (with summer options available) at the same East Sacramento location. Teachers are highly trained in early childhood development and bring land based, seasonal, and emergent curriculum. Our daily rhythm follows the seasons and the children's interests.
Children in this group are usually ages 3-6 and potty trained.
Parent participation rate involves staying with your child one day per week.
