Withywindle is hiring!

We are a new-ish forest & adventure school in central Sacramento looking for two amazing educators to join our growing community. We believe that children belong outside where they can learn & grow through movement, curiosity, and co-regulation. Come play with us!

 

Forest School - Teacher’s Aide

Our Forest School groups spends their days exploring Paradise Beach (in East Sacramento) with the Wild Willows (ages 3-6) and the Mighty Oaks (ages 5-10.) As teacher’s aide you will support the lead teacher in implementing social-emotional and nature based curriculum and nurturing each child’s development of a sense of self & community. Must be able to meet each child where they are at, like getting muddy, and be okay outside in all weather!


Schedule: Tues/Wed/Fri 9–1, Thurs 1:30–5:30

Pay: $18–$21/hour with 50% tuition discount for dependents 

​

Qualifications: Deep understanding of child development (through ECE units or experience) curious and excited about nature, capable of walking up to a mile a day/carrying a classroom on your back.

​

Bonus: Ecology or Science Background, Knowledge of wilderness skills, Experience teaching outdoors, really good at finding bugs (a preschooler told me to say that!) 

 

Adventure Club - Teacher

The Adventure Club van goes to a different school each day to pick up kids and bring them to nature spots around Sacramento. This is a brand new program launching in March 2026! Implement fun science and nature based curriculum and facilitate deep play. Possibility for leadership role in the 2026/2027 school year.

Schedule: 16-20 hours/week, M-Th afternoons

​

Pay: $20-$23/hour with 50% tuition discount for dependents 

​

Qualifications: MUST HAVE A CLEAN DMV RECORD! Understanding of child development (through ECE units or experience) curious and excited about nature, capable of walking up to a mile a day/carrying a classroom on your back. 

​

Bonus: Ecology or Science education, experience in elementary age/outdoor education, knowledge of wilderness skills
