Children Belong Outside

The best kind of learning happens in nature, where little bodies can use all of their senses to explore the world. Outside, children learn by squishing mud between their toes, counting pockets full of acorns and pebbles, balancing as they leap from rock to rock, and scrambling up and down trees. Research shows that when children are outside, they play harder, learn impulse control faster, develop more resilience, and pick up more cooperative behaviors. At Withywindle Adventure School our number one goal is to get kids into nature so they can develop their bodies and minds holistically.

Join us for our inaugural forest school group starting Fall 2024!

Withywindle Adventure School roams on land that was cared for by the Nisenan and Miwok peoples. Both tribes exist today here and throughout California. Our curriculum includes the history of the original and rightful stewards of the Sacramento Valley.
